The term Hermeneutics simply means, a methodical approach to studying the Scriptures. For example, the hermeneutic of “Rule of context”, we ask “What does the rest of the verse or chapter say?” Is your interpretation consistent with other scripture?
Theology means a study of God. In our case, it means studying the teachings/doctrines of the Bible from a PRACTICAL perspective. That is, asking Why is this teaching important? What is it’s practical impact upon my conduct as a Christian? Viewing doctrines in an organized fashion is systematic theology. [back]
