A young street evangelist had finished explaining the plan of salvation to a man who then prayed to receive Christ. He was assured that he was saved and going to Heaven when he died. The evangelist then asked the man,<\/p>\n
\u201cWould you like to join our men\u2019s discipleship group?\u201d
\n\u201cWhat\u2019s that?\u201d he asks.
\n\u201cWell, we meet at 6 a.m. on Tuesdays for breakfast, Bible Study, and prayer.\u201d
\nHe smiles and replies, \u201cI really don\u2019t think that\u2019s for me.\u201d
\n\u201cWell, would you like to visit our church? We\u2019ve got a great pastor.\u201d
\n\u201cNah, Sunday morning is my golf time.\u201d After further reflection he asks, \u201cBut I\u2019m still going to Heaven aren\u2019t I?\u201d
\n\u201cWell yes, but . . . .\u201d
\n\u201cBut what? You said that the only thing I needed to do was believe these things about God and Jesus and accept Him as my savior and I did that. You said it wasn\u2019t about doing anything else. You said that if I doubted my salvation it was Satan lying to me. Are you now saying that there\u2019s something more I need to do?\u201d
\n\u201cWell no, but don\u2019t you want to get to know God better?\u201d
\n\u201cSure, but I don\u2019t think so right now. But I am going to Heaven \u2013 right? Can I go now?\u201d<\/p>\n
If this young evangelist spoke to you afterward about this experience, what would you tell him?<\/p>\n

1) Would you commend him for his good work?
\n2) Would you tell him that you don\u2019t think the message \u201ctook\u201d? If so, why didn\u2019t it take? The man did what he was told to do. Did God fail to show up? What should he have done differently?
\n3) Would you tell him that only God knows the final outcome of this encounter?
\n4) What if you saw the saved man six months later and asked how his \u201cwalk with Christ\u201d was going and he said \u201cWhat walk?\u201d<\/p>\n
